Boston Children’s Chorus (BCC) is committed to providing the youth of Greater Boston and beyond an opportunity to experience the transformative power of music. As a part of our regular programming, we offer ensembles at a variety of times, locations, and skill levels from September through May each year. BCC has 13 different choirs which rehearse at 5 different sites throughout the city.
Training choirs are comprised of treble singers ages 7-12. This program develops music basics such as theory, interval training, rhythm and sight-singing techniques. Attention span and concentration are points of focus. There are four training level choirs meeting in four Boston locations. Choirs meet for 90 minutes once a week.
Intermediate choirs are comprised of treble singers ages 10-14. This level requires individual attentiveness, vocal skills and theory comprehension while offering varied repertoire and performance experiences. There are two intermediate level choirs meeting at two Boston locations.
Intermediate Choirs meet two hours once a week and the Central Intermediate Advanced Choirs meeting 90 minutes twice a week.
For singers age 12-18 with advanced musical skills, there are 3 choirs at the advanced level: Concert Choir (CC), Young Men's Ensemble (YME), and Premier Choir (PC).
