History

Since the BCC's inception, our programs have grown rapidly. Twenty children were accepted into an initial pilot program, and in the current season, we have almost 500 singers representing over 110 zip codes of Greater Boston, participating in thirteen different choirs in five Boston locations: the South End, Allston-Brighton, South Boston, Dorchester, and the Lower Roxbury section of the South End.

The 2012 - 2013 season represented 10 Years of Harmony for BCC. During this milestone year, the chorus had its biggest sell-out concert at the annual Holiday Celebration at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.  In more tragic circumstances, BCC returned to perform at that venue for the Interfaith Service “Healing our City” on April 18, a memorial service after the Boston Marathon bombings attended by President Obama. The season rounded off with a World Premiere performance at the Institute of Contemporary Art, a quick visit to Australia and a tour of Southeast Asia.

BCC Anthem: We Sing

There is a way that we can change
One by one we will join
As you hear our voice

Refrain:

We sing the hope of tomorrow
Our time, this is our call
We sing as we stand together,
Voices calling out for change
We’re gonna stand for peace
We’re gonna sing for joy
We will unite for hope
And for freedom.

Refrain

Sing the hope of tomorrow
Our time, this is our call
We sing as we stand together,
Voices calling out
Hear us calling out
We sing the hope of tomorrow
Voices calling out for change
