Big Sing
Big Sing brings hundreds of students together every year to unite and celebrate their diverse community through the power of music.
Learn moreIn collaboration with the students, faculty, and administration, Boston Children's Chorus (BCC) offers choral programs during and after the school day.
BCC’s distinct approach to choral music education elevates both artistry and cultural consciousness in every rehearsal. Each week, students practice physical and vocal warm-ups, stimulating aural training, tenets of wholistic music literacy, sight reading activities, body mapping exercises, and culturally relevant repertoire. Students develop an age-appropriate pedagogical understanding of their vocal instrument. The repertoire is chosen from various genres including Gospel, Neo-Soul, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and Sacred Choral music.
BCC offers year-long, six-month, or catered short-term programs based on the needs of each school. If you are interested in bringing culturally relevant, joy filled, ensemble singing to your school, please reach out to our Conductor of In-School Programs, Robert McFletcher-Jones at rmcfletcher-jones@bostonchildrenschorus.org.
Boston Children’s Chorus (BCC) is proud to offer in-school programs at the Oliver Hazard Perry School and the Manassah E. Bradley School through generous support from BPS Arts Expansion and EdVestors. We are deeply grateful for their partnership in helping bring the joy and power of music into Boston classrooms.
