BOSTON BRUINS AND TD BANK ANNOUNCE BOSTON CHILDREN’S CHORUS TO SING ANTHEM AT TD GARDEN FOR BRUINS GAME AGAINST THE NEW JERSEY DEVILS ON FEBRUARY 18

BOSTON - The Boston Bruins and TD Bank announced today, February 18, that, in celebration of Black History Month, Boston Children’s Chorus (BCC) will sing the national anthem for tonight’s Bruins game against the New Jersey Devils at 7 p.m.

“We are honored to be invited to sing our National Anthem for the Bruins game,” said BCC Executive Director, Andrés Holder. “BCC singers are fierce advocates for what is right—justice and equity. We are proud to raise our voices in song to re-commit to the unending journey towards a more equitable future for all. We are grateful to the Bruins and to TD Bank for their continued partnership of our work”

“TD Bank is a proud supporter of Boston Children's Chorus, an organization that harnesses the power of music to connect our Boston's diverse communities, cultivate empathy, and inspire social inquiry,” said TD Bank SVP of Retail Banking, Monte Foster. “It has been an honor for TD Bank to support BCC for over a decade.  BCC has become an international leader in combining music and social justice education to increase connectedness and drive change. We are thrilled that Boston Children's Chorus has been selected to deliver a moving rendition of the National Anthem at the Bruin's celebration of Black History Month.”

The Bruins and TD Bank are proud to support and promote Black Communities this month and every month after. The anthem is part of the Bruins and TD Bank’s larger initiative to support black communities and grow the sport of hockey.

On Monday, February 16, the Bruins and TD Bank hosted a clinic for SCORE Boston youth hockey players at the Willie O’Ree Community Rink in Allston with Bruins alumni Graeme Townshend and Bob Sweeney. The Bruins and TD Bank have donated 40 sets of hockey equipment to SCORE Boston participants. TD Bank has also committed to a $10,000 donation to SCORE Boston. In addition, the Boston Bruin’s Foundation’s 50/50 raffle will support SCORE Boston, with tickets until February 25.
